From Dorka:
I’m not sure I can write now, maybe it’s too late but sorry, I couldn’t write earlier. I’m a big Nicklback fan and I found this site on a NB forum. I was really happy when I saw you had a blog and I started to come on as much as I could. My answer is that when did you decide to do this? And what, or who inspired you? Treana you are amazing. Love you.
p.s. I’m sorry if my english isn’t so good. I’m from Hungary.
Hi Dorka,
Your English is excellent and thank you for writing. I grew up watching World Vision commercials and I always knew I would be involved with charities. In high school, I called organizations working abroad asking if I could volunteer, offering to pay my own expenses if I could work with them.
Every single place I contacted refused, telling me to call back when I was a doctor, a nurse or a teacher. So I decided to start something myself. I didn’t know how a charity was run, but I did know they all began with one person’s vision, and I refused to be intimidated by these larger, more established organizations.
I’m still not a doctor, nurse or teacher, but because of my passion and commitment, I can now visit these communities myself and provide a doctor, nurse or teacher to those who need them most. I know from personal experience that anyone make a difference.

What an excellent answer, I admire the way you are so honest about your feelings. I to tried to volunteer when I was young and single with no commitments but got constantly stonewalled, I was always reluctant to donate money as you could never be sure it was getting through to the people who needed the most. With your foundation I have been able to be a part of something that really helps. xxxx
You are such an inspiration Treana!! You are so right, everyone of us can make a difference if it is truly important to us
I for one am so glad you fought to create your own foundation, and allow us access to it so we can help make a difference too
Thanks
Treana,I did not know you did this! You are a brilliant beautiful person!!! I will have to buy some clothes so I can contribute! I am proud to know you! Hope to see you again soon!

Thanks Treana for sharing all your journeys to getting so far with Obakki Foundation..Its exciting that you will send your products internationally(New Zealand here) as there are a few things i will like to purchase.
Also i would like to say thanks for giving us all the courage to help others in our own way..
My husband and I own our own company in the concrete industry and have helped out in our community by ways of discounts, and donations towards our kids school and offered our services(free) to a local church that is building a new complex.
I just wanted to share and not blow our own trumpet but to say that every little thing helps..
Thanks so much Treana.
xoxo
Thank you for the answer Treana.
I couldn’t read it before because I was abroad, it was so good to come back and read this. You’re an inspiration, you really are. You never gave up and now you do what you’ve always wanted to do, this is awesome, I wish I was as strong as you. I really hope one day I will do something.. something big, something that you would be proud of
