Introduction

In a country that lacks social services, Bafut is transforming the lives of people with physical disabilities by offering surgery, equipment such as braces or prosthetics, and physical therapy.

Most of Bafut’s patients (mainly children) have lost limbs due to trauma, disease or birth defects, while others have cerebral palsy. But they all have one thing in common – the determination to turn an obstacle into a triumph.

People leave the facility able to walk for the first time, excited to tackle any challenges as they navigate their new path. Bafut also provides vocational training and jobs, such as building prosthetics – often the only opportunity these people have to live independently.

The staff relies on extremely outdated and limited supplies, while patients must pay for all services, treatments and equipment.

100% of all donations will go directly to improving the lives of children and adults at Bafut, ensuring they receive life-altering treatments, improved equipment and enhanced support.
