Nyaga

Overview

When you bought 500 Cobalt scarves, we drilled a well in Nyaga

Launched

March 2016

Project Type

Clean Water

Introduction

IN THE VILLAGE OF NYAGA, DESPERATE RESIDENTS WERE DRINKING FROM A SEASONAL STREAM THAT WAS UNRELIABLE AND OFTEN CONTAMINATED.

Villagers were walking for hours to use a dilapidated hand pump that was the sole source of clean water for seven other villages. In their desperation, Nyaga residents were drinking from a contaminated stream or an old hand-dug well that was extremely dangerous, as evidenced by the young child who fell in and nearly drowned.

When we sold out of the COBALT scarf and Nyaga received clean water, everyone was safer and healthier. You can purchase another of our ‘limited edition’ colours in order to support one of the many other villages in need.
