Introduction

UKRAINE PROGRAM

The people of Ukraine have now been living with the horrors of war for more than a year. Our campaign focuses on getting relief funds directly into the hands of those with boots on the ground in the war zones.

We have partnered with a local group in one of the major cities under attack — volunteers made up of restaurateurs, hosteliers, teachers, and business owners. They are the people who risk their lives to reach the most vulnerable, and we are proud to support their efforts. They put themselves in danger almost every day to help others, and they are the ones who cry tears of gratitude for our partnership and support.

There are still people trapped in place, unable to leave for physical and/or financial reasons. As Russia ramps up the bombing surrounding the first anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, it becomes more dangerous in those zones for them (which is difficult to imagine, knowing what we know so far).

We supply generators to keep them warm, as they have no electricity. We supply food, medicine and first aid supplies. And then we purchase bullet-proof vests for the local volunteers who deliver the food and medicine and supplies (Kherson is under constant fire from Russian missiles). We outfit doctors at the blood centre with bullet-proof vests and helmets so that they may save the lives of the wounded without being killed themselves.

We send critical medical supplies that are in very short supply directly to Ukraine from Canada — they send a list, and we find it and send it. One of their recent requests was for multitool brands that are capable of dismantling bombs and mines, which will sadly remain long after the war ends, as a horrible reminder of this time in history.

There is more we can do, and must do, for these people who are trapped in a war — the sick, the elderly, and the displaced. And for those who are helping them. There will always be a need for more aid as long as their homes, hospitals and schools are being bombed. This is as grassroots as it gets.

Our partners in Ukraine have a network, they have the courage, and they have the boots on the ground. They just need us to keep believing in them.

A year is an eternity to be thrust into a brutal war with no end in sight. We continue to support Ukraine and her people — with your kind help. Zero administrative fees will be taken from your donation. 100% will directly reach the people.

Supporting Ukraine to defend their country, protect their freedom, and save their people might just be the most important donation you will make in your lifetime.

Please share this cause with anyone you think is interested or able to help.

Our world needs to stay connected in moments like this - humanity and love can (and always will) prevail. Kindness and compassion can win. But it will take all of us this time.
