We asked the orphans of St. Valentines in Cameroon, Africa these questions: What makes you happy? What makes you sad? What makes you afraid? The Obakki Foundation Makes Me Happy contains their answers in words and drawings.

A pull-out insert allows your children to answer these same questions, showing them the similarity of our cultures – who doesn’t love a cat in workout gear? – as well as learning opportunities, such as why a mosquito can be scary rather than merely a nuisance. Ultimately the orphans of St. Valentines show us that, despite our differences, children around the world aren’t that different after all.
